Maryland Wear & Carry (COMAR) Registration

Maryland Wear & Carry Initial                     16  Hours     FEE:  $175

Maryland Wear & Carry Renewal                   8 Hours      FEE:  $100

If you are any one of the below you are exempted.

  1. You are an active law enforcement officer with a law enforcement agency of the United States, the State or any local law enforcement agency in the State.

  2. You are a retired law enforcement officer with a law enforcement agency of the United States, the State or any local law enforcement agency in the State.

  3. You are an active, retired, or honorably discharged member of the armed forces of the United States or the National Guard.

  4. You are a Qualified Handgun Instructor registered with the Maryland State Police.

One note about the HQL and the Wear & Carry permit.  You do NOT need an HQL to take the Wear & Carry permit class.  Additionally, if you do not currently have an HQL, then just take the Wear & Carry class and apply for the permit.  Once approved, you can then go back and apply for the HQL as "Permit Exempt" and get it for free!
 

The W&CP Course of Fire (CoF) is divided into two categories: Personal and Professional.

Personal is now covered under "Shall Issue" and applies to anyone obtaining a permit for "self defense" or "personal protection".


Professional if Private Detective/Armed Security Guard/Special Police/Armored Car Guards.

This course will be taught by Qualified Handgun Instructors (QHIL/QHIC) and NRA Range Safety Officer.
 

We provide: Targets, Training Material, Range Time, and Certification.

Note: The W&C Initial course will be split over at least two days.  Classes start at 4PM on the scheduled dates.  IF scheduled, one day, Saturday classes will begin a 7:30AM and run until 5PM.


 

The class is held at the Dream Big Boutique, 106 St Mary's Ave, La Plata, MD, the "live fire" activity is at private range and will generally be held on a Sunday following the class date. The address will be provided during the class.
